“Gdańsk Development Programs 2030” is a strategic document outlining the city’s development directions for the coming years. Our task was to design a visual form that is clear, attractive, and rooted in Gdańsk’s identity. We combined modernity with the city’s historical heritage.
The central motif of the project is the plus/cross symbol – drawn from Gdańsk’s coat of arms and transformed into a modern graphic language. Pluses appear throughout the publication – as bullet points, navigational elements, decorations, and identifying marks. They create rhythm and character for the project.
To make the content easier to navigate, each development area was assigned a different color. These colors influence the layout, typography, and graphics. They also appear as side registers that serve a navigational function. The entire publication is clear, accessible, and logically organized.
The graphic design is eye-catching and friendly to both internal and external audiences (residents).
The publication was printed on high-quality uncoated paper, giving it an elegant, matte finish. The cover stands out with precisely cut-out plus symbols and a subtle UV print. The registers cut into the page edges serve as navigation tools – greatly facilitating movement through the document.
The project was carried out in close collaboration with the Gdańsk City Hall team, in the spirit of partnership and shared responsibility for the final result. We succeeded in creating a publication that not only meets high functional standards but also stands out with a cohesive, well-thought-out graphic design. It is a communication tool that conveys Gdańsk’s development vision in a clear and engaging way.
