Flint – Capturing the spark in a high-tech brand

When youʼre a B2B software service provider, itʼs easy to fall into the “boring” trap. Itʼs what the industryʼs just got used to for some reason. But itʼs not how
you stand out. Thatʼs exactly what we helped our client do with a creative brand vision that set them apart in the crowded market and got the internal team excited about it as well.

About

Flint (previously Delivr) is a software development company specializing in creating VR/AR applications for businesses worldwide. They pride themselves on adding actual business value for their clients with innovative, tailored software solutions. Apart from the core Flint Tech company, they also started Flint Systems (VR simulators) and Flint Arts (games).

Seeking new brand identity

Flint was looking for a complete rebrand that would let them encompass the new services they were introducing. They needed a consistent umbrella brand that their audience would recognize instantly and their teams would identify with. Up to that point, they didn’t really have a single, unique vision that brought people together internally and stood out externally.

They also wanted it to be clear what they do from the moment their website loads in your browser. (That, plus they no longer wanted to be mistaken for a food delivery service, which oddly happened every once in a while.)

Making B2B software both fun and serious business

Building new brand worlds is at the core of what we do, so we jumped at the opportunity. We had to create something that could express the innovative nature of Flint services clearly while grabbing attention. So we went for super modern approach with a fun element to it, so the Flint team would enjoy it, too (after all, it was their brand).

Making a spark with flint

AR/VR is a pretty complex topic to explain on a website, so we had to come up with symbolic ways to show it. We had to both get creative AND help Flint communicate the business value of what they’re offering, so potential clients could easily find it on their website.

The new logo we designed is a spark that you can make using a piece of flint. It symbolizes creativity and the start of a promising B2B partnership that can lead to amazing outcomes. Additionally, we also created an animated levitating flint graphic for the website header, for which we used creative coding. The entire website is much clearer and – of course – responsive, so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for. We also designed animated icons for each of the services to make it very clear what the company offers.

On top of the website design, we also created social media templates. This way the team can recycle the graphics on their own while we can supervise the process and help when needed. And of course one of the most fun moments for everyone in the project was designing the T-shirts, hoodies, and slides.

A brand loved by both the clients and the team (and us!)

The new brand managed to do what a successful brand should: stand out and help get more clients but also feel “right” to the team themselves.

But let them speak for themselves.

Coming from a direct response marketing & direct sales and being around the agency world, I'm always skeptical about branding and its potential for ROI within a business. For me, branding was just a fancy logo, and not much else.

Working with workshop91 changed that.

It was honestly a breath of fresh air, and they completely removed ALL that skepticism.

They captured our vision perfectly, brought our brand to life, and left us with an actionable plan on what to actually do with our brand. And the process itself, from ideation through to delivery, was flawless.

Because of that, we're seeing returns both internally at Flint Tech – and externally in the responses and comments we're getting from all client-facing activities.

Possibly the biggest impact they’ve seen almost immediately was how the new vision brought all the team together and felt just right instantly. Which you can see in just how keen everyone is to wear their team hoodies and slides to work daily.

And that’s just priceless.

Let’s create something special together!
